Mark Billingham is a British crime writer. He has worked as an actor and stand-up comedian, but decided to focus mainly on his crime novels after his first book “Sleepyhead” became an instant bestseller.
Even though stand-up comedy and crime novels seem far apart, Billingham’s love of black humour becomes apparent throughout the gut-wrenching books, as he likes to surprise and entertain the reader by providing detailed descriptions of the characters.
Billingham’s books have been translated into Swedish and German.
