By now, Paul Cleave can call himself The King of Crime Fiction in New Zealand. He’s won the Ngaio Marsh award multiple times, become an international bestseller-author and his books have been published in more than 12 languages. The novels take place in Christchurch in New Zealand, which is Cleave’s hometown. He started writing when he was 19 years old when a friend asked him what he would do for a living if he could choose anything.

In the beginning, Cleave thought he would write horror-books but later he discovered that crime is the horror of real life. He took a chance on the career as an author, sold his house and moved back in with his parents so that he could write full time. That paid off as he got a contract with Random House. He has published 11 books in English, 7 of them have been translated in Danish by Jentas, and we are now ready to publish “Whatever it Takes” as an audio book in English and have just published Bloodmen in Swedish.
